Malcolm Macbeth started his family business in the early 1990s. Macbeth retains the feel of a family business, but we’ve grown way beyond that. What we’ve always done for our clients is replace risk with reassurance.

From Tilehurst roots to a 75-person business.

Macbeth Insurance Brokers is founded by Malcolm Macbeth.
1992
The first office opens on School Road, Tilehurst.
1992
Paul Macbeth starts working part-time in the business at 14, beginning his career in insurance.
1996
Founder Malcolm Macbeth passes away.
1997
MS Macbeth Ltd is established, continuing Malcolm's legacy.
2000
Ben Butler joins the company as an office junior at 16.
2002
Macbeth Premium Finance launches.
2009
Macbeth achieves Chartered Insurance Broker status.
2014
The Financial Services arm joins the business.
2016
Head office relocates to Arlington Business Park, Theale.
2019
Macbeth acquires Cassey Miller James.
2021
Macbeth acquires Peter Lole Insurance Brokers.
2021
Paul Macbeth becomes CEO and Ben Butler is appointed Managing Director.
2021
Macbeth appears in the UK Top 100 Insurance Brokers for the first time.
2022
The team reaches 50 employees.
2023
Macbeth launches a rebrand after 30 years, including a new logo and website.

A second office opens in Marlow.
2025
Macbeth is shortlisted at the UK Broker Awards for Claims Team of the Year and High Net Worth Broker of the Year.

Macbeth acquires Insurance Services Surrey.

Our business isn’t really about insurance and finances
Honestly, it’s about people and relationships. We love to meet face-to-face and chat and talk and question and discuss things with you. Getting to know about you, your family and your business is vital to ensure you’re properly protected. It’s not about things, or stuff. It’s not about this policy, or that. It’s about finding what you need and making sure you get it, and we’re great at that. It’s why so much of our business comes from referrals.
I’m well aware that you need to trust your insurance provider and financial adviser. And I've always preached - and practised - open, honest business, conducted with integrity. Trust builds. This is how.
